Kingsley's First Day

Yep.  I cried.  Not full out, but teared up.  How is it possible that my baby is in preschool??  Look how cute she is with her backpack though.  :)  Sweet little punkin.  She was a little hesitant to go in but went with a kind teacher who was talking to her.  She's only there an hour today...I am already ready to go and get her!!  Happy first day, baby girl!  :)

Happy first day of Pre-K, Grady!!  I actually wasn't sad to see him go this year...and not because I am sick of him.  (Though he has been picking on his sister a LOT lately.)  :)  He's going to the same room with the same teachers for the third year.  I LOVE them, they do an AWESOME job, and I know he's going to enjoy it.  Kingsley starting 3 year old preschool on Friday...now that's a different story.  Oof.

Pre Pre-school. (Yes, it makes sense.)

Hi blogging world,

Yup, it's me again. The most inconsistent blogger ever.  (Well, probably not ever.)  I just posted this on FB and wanted it HERE as well so I could remember it.  It's part of a conversation that Grady and Kingsley had as I was getting supper ready after her preschool orientation night.  Here you go:

"Now Kinglsey. There are going to be a LOT of other kids there. And they are going to take the toys that you are playing with. Don't get mad, just say, "I was playing with that. Could I have it back please?" And if they don't give it back, say it again. And they are going to want you to write your name. Don't feel bad if you can't right away. You'll get it. You are going to have so much fun."

How cute is that?!  Today he was reminding her of what to say to get toys back..I feel like that is a big issue in his life.  :)

Here's some pics from our house (homemade popcicles!) and a recent trip to Minneapolis with my family.  Enjoy!

First day pics to come!  G starts tomorrow and K will be on Friday.  Have a great day!

......I'm back! (For the time being anyway!)

It's been SO long since I blogged, I almost didn't even remember how.  :)  It seemed like the perfect time to do it since the kids and I are stuck on the couch right now.  I have had an awful headache all morning and Mr. G was send home sick from preschool after he threw up there.  So, now it's movies and snuggling.  Miss K seems just fine as she's eating everything in the house that's not nailed down....hopefully she doesn't get it too because she is a loaded cannon at the moment.  :)

New things in my life, you may ask?  It has been awhile since I've posted any updates.  A couple of things, work related.  I finally jumped in and became a Pampered Chef Consultant.  Sounds cheesy, but it was something that I always wanted to do!  (Plus, I wanted to be able to buy products and I didn't know anyone that sold them anymore!)  I have had one FtF show so far, have three catalog shows running, and have another couple FtF shows next month.  It's fun and a good way for me to get some girl time in every once in awhile.  Will I do this forever?  Probably not.  Am I enjoying it so far?  Yup, absolutely!

I also took on a blended class through Hawkeye Community College.  From April-June I'll be teaching a blended Oral Comm, half online and half face to face.  Sounds like a fun new challenge, esp. since Hawkeye uses a different system than I'm used to.  Also, a little extra money is a good thing.  :)

The kids are great...I cannot believe that they are going to be 3 and 5 in May!  Everyone said that once Kingsley turned 3 or so, I would be wanting another baby.  True to an extent...she is certainly more self-sufficient.  She's been potty trained for a few months now and that's been amazzzzzing.  No more diapers, yahoo!!  However, both kiddos are still sweet and innocent and cuddly, so I can still get my snuggles in with them.  :)  Plus, just about every one of my friends are pregnant right now, so I can probably get my baby fix as needed.  :)

I used to think that babies were a lot of work and worry.  It never crossed my mind that they were stuck to one place and once they started moving things would only become a bit more challenging.  Just this last Friday Grady shot himself through (yes, through) the finger with a brad nail during Daddy Day Care.  (Josh was putting up a piece of trim, Grady picked up the nail gun, Josh told him to put it down, in the process, it went off....)  We were incredibly lucky as it just went through a little bit of tissue, no nail, bone, tendons....yes, it could have been much worse.  No, I don't think he'll listen next time when we tell him that he could get hurt if he doesn't listen.  :)

ORANGE!  The bedroom back wall color is orange.  Not a very Roxanne color, huh??  I totally dig the orange but already have plans to go back to a cream/white/brown color scheme in the future.  (Yep, THAT seems more Roxanne!)

Weekend plans are supposed to include going and seeing Nick and Annie, but there is a snowstorm coming in tonight through tomorrow.  We'll have to see what that does to our travel plans.  Till next time, blog readers!  I'll try not to go so long!
